Innovative Customer Relations Management Module Enables Member Services Personnel at Health Plan to Maximize the Intervention Value of Every Patient Engagement Opportunity

April 16, 2013 – Reston, VA – Altruista Health, Inc., an innovative provider of care and disease management technology for health plans, providers and coordinated care organizations, announces that Denver Health Medical Plan, a health plan providing affordable, cost-effective care for more than 15,000 members, has successfully implemented the Altruista GuidingCare for Member Services module.

GuidingCare for Member Services is an innovative customer relations management module that provides member services personnel with instant access to care management details as they communicate with patients. By integrating with the GuidingCare platform, customer service representatives can view health improvement opportunities and service utilization patterns. As a result, they become a core part of the overall health engagement and outreach efforts of the plan beyond their ability to address member’s and provider’s eligibility, benefits and claims-related enquiries.

“Health plans are always challenged to take full advantage of every patient engagement opportunity,” said Ashish Kachru, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Altruista Health. “With GuidingCare for Member Services, Denver Health Medical Plan can effectively multiply their health outreach efforts, maximize patient engagement and improve overall health outcomes for their patient populations.”

In 2011, Denver Health Medical Plan implemented GuidingCare, a patient-centric care management system that helps health plans improve health outcomes and reduce avoidable costs. GuidingCare’s web-based care coordination and automated decision support tools enable Denver Health Medical Plan’s physicians, nurses, case managers and health educators to provide timely and clinically appropriate care management, health education, and support services to members with chronic healthcare needs.

“As a patient-oriented and community-based health plan, our focus is on helping each member access the care that’s best for them, at the time they need it,” said Richard French, Director of Member Services for Denver Health. “Altruista’s Member Services module provides our customer-service team with the access to data and guidance they need to more effectively engage our members. As a result, we’re able to help drive improved health outcomes and increased experience-of-care satisfaction for these patients.”
